Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Place the turkey breast-side up in a roasting pan.

Pour 1/2 cup of melted butter into the bottom of the roasting pan.

Cover the turkey loosely with aluminum foil.

Roast the turkey for 1 hour.

Remove the foil and baste the turkey with the melted butter every 30 minutes for the remainder of cooking time.
